Habitat Preservation and Enhancement

Stewardship of the natural world

Funding or Management of Projects

…such as Emy’s  Meadow, Clegg Meadow, leasing scrubland for Dickcissel nests, creating Waterford Flats, and installation of a Purple Martin box and Kestrel box. Future efforts could include more pollinator meadows and grassland for nesting birds and data collection. The emphasis is on projects that enhance protection of birds and their habitat, especially in Howard County.

Working groups:

Waterford Flats

Purple Martin

Future: Habitat

Over $100,000 to preserve habitat!

That’s right! The Howard County Bird Club has contributed over $100,000 to help save habitat —and your contributions have made it possible. The contributions have gone to local, state, national, and international organizations to promote the knowledge, development, protection, and conservation of bird life and other naturally occurring species and their habitats. Organizations and projects we have supported. Our annual seed sales funded our habitat grants for 50 years.

How can I help?
